"Okay class, today we have some very special visitors coming to our class. Do any of you know who the Pittsburgh Penguins are?" I said to my class.
"YES!" called an eruption of second graders.
"Well today we have 4 Penguins coming in."
"Who?" one of my students Allison asked.
"We have Rob Scuderi, Hal Gill, Pascal Dupuis, and Max Talbot.
"When are they coming?!" Andrew called from the back of the room.
"They're coming at the end of the day so if we get all our work done I'll tell them they can come in."
We got through all the subjects, and lessons in a flash. While the kids were at recess I got a knock at my door.
"Come in."
"Hi, I'm Pascal Dupuis, we got here a little early and we wondering if we could just come in since the kids are outside."
"Yeah that's fine. Come in"
"This is Rob Scuderi, Hal Gill, and Max Talbot" Dupuis said as the three came in.
"Hi I'm Cassie Pomeroy."
"It's nice to meet you Max stuck out his hand."
I smiled and shook his hand.
"What are you four going to be talking about?"
"We're just going to be talking about the importance of education , and then we're going to let them ask questions if that is okay with you," Pascal said.
"I have some Penguins posters to hang up, you four are willing to help me?" I said with a smile.
"Sure, yeah. Where are they" Rob said.
"In the cabinet over there. I'm out of tape, I'm going to run next door and grab some." I said.
When I came back they were all looking through the posters. I handed them the tape, and we began hanging them up. I dropped a poster and leaned down to pick it up.
"What's your tattoo of?" I heard Max say.
I quickly turned around, and looked at Max with a shocked look on my face.
"Sorry it's just I looked over real quick, and couldn't tell what it was.
"Oh," I said blushing, "It's the word love in French."
"Oh cool! Do you speak French?" He asked me.
"Yes I took it all throught middle, and high school."
"Oh that's so cool, I'm from Montreal so French is my first language."
"Eh bien maintenant, nous avons officiellement quelque chose en commun."(Well now we officially have something in common) I said with a smile.
"Je me demande ce que nous avons en commun,(I wonder what else we have in common)" Max said with a smile and a wink.
"Hey lover boy!" Pascal called, "Hang up these freakin posters!"
Max looked back to me and smiled.
"Okay I can take over from here, you guys have to go. The kids come in, in like five minutes, and I don't want them to see you until you guys make your appearence."
"Alright, we'll head out until you want us to come in." Hal said.
"What time do we have to come back?" Rob asked.
"I think 2:30 is good. You only have to wait like 20 minutes."
"K we'll see you then." Max said.
When I first walked in the door I was completely taken back by her beauty. Teachers aren't supposed to be this pretty are they? Long completely natural brown hair, legs that looked like they went on for miles, brown eyes, and that smile. Wow. I've seen a lot of women smile at me, but there was something in her smile, like no other i'd ever seen. So genuine, and warm, and whoa Max, you're getting ahead of yourself.
"I'm Cassie Pomeroy," I heard her say.
I quickly stuck out my hand, and she lightly grabbed it, and smiled. She barely had any makeup on which for some reason was very pretty to me.
She then asked whoever was willing to answer what we would be talking to the kids about. I had totally forgotten we'd come here to talk to the kids. Rob answered while I was still staring at her flawless skin.
"I have some Penguins posters to hang up, you four willing to help me?" She asked with that million dollar smile again.
Rob answered, yet again, and asked where they were.
"In the cabinet over there. I'm out of tape, I'm going to run next door and get some."
As she walked out of the room I couldn't help but stare as she walked away.
"Hey Max, are you gonna help us or are you gonna stare at the door all day?" Pascal said.
"Yeah, yeah," I'm coming.
When she came back in the room we started hanging up the posters. I looked over when she bent down to get a poster she dropped and I saw ink on her back where her blouse came up.
"What's your tattoo of." I cursed myself for asking once I had. She probably thinks I'm some perv checking her out.
She turned around with a bewildered expression on her face, and then smiled.
"Sorry it's just I looked over real quick and couldn't tell what it was." I said to her. "Oh good comeback you lame douche bag I thought to myself.
"Oh, she said, "It's the word love in French."
We had a short conversation in French until Duper had to go and break that up. But seeing her speaking French was so incredibly sexy, I couldn't help but smile. Usually I speak in French to girls to try to get them in bed because women seem to find men that speak French to them hot, but i didn't realize what they meant until I heard those words come out of Cassie's mouth. Then she kicked us out of her room claiming that the kids would be in shortly. Today could not possibly be the last time I speak to her.
When she finally let us back in the room we had to go speak to the kids. We talked for about a half hour but Rob and Hal did most of the talking. The bell rang and all the kids headed out of the classroom to their buses. Rob, Hal, and Duper started heading towards their cars. I stuck around to talk to Cassie.
I walked back into the room as soon as all the kids were out. She was behind her desk typing something on the computer when she saw me.
"Did you forget something?" she asked me.
"Yeah I did. I forgot to give you my number. You know in case you wanted to get coffee or something sometime" I said to her.
Cassie's POV
I smiled at him as politely as possible. "Look Max, you seem very sweet, but I don't know. I don't really want to get caught up with any big shot hockey player." I said as I took of my glasses I use when I'm using the computer.
"You don't have to get caught up. It's just going out for coffee. Even ice cream. How can anyone say no to ice cream?" Max said with his big toothy grin.
"Ok," I said with a deep sigh. "Ice cream. That's it." I said trying to sound as determined as possible.
"Well it is the middle of November. Ice cream may make you cold. We just may have to go out for coffee after." Max said with a wink.
He grabbed my phone and put his number in then sent a blank text to himself.
"There now we both have each others' numbers. I'll call you tonight." And with that Max was on his way towards the door. He turned around smiled, and said it's a date and shut the door behind him.
It is so not a date.
